Evaluation of insecticides against leaf eating caterpillar in drumstick

Abstract: Leaf eating caterpillar is major pest of drumstick causing significant damage to the plantations. Farmers are spraying pesticides to manage this pest by their own experience. As of now none of the insecticides is registered in CIBRC for managing this pest in drumstick. An experiment was conducted at a farmer`s field to evaluate the efficacy of insecticides against leaf eating caterpillar in drumstick. Treatments of chlorantraniliprole 18.5% SC 0.0075%, chlorantraniliprole 18.5% SC 0.006%, emamectin benzoate 5% SG 0.0024% and emamectin benzoate 5% SG 0.0019% were found effective and economical in managing leaf eating caterpillar in drumstick.
